Are you a lesbian, gay, bisexual or transgender person seeking asylum or with refugee status in Bristol?
Bristol Pride Without Borders is our support group for Bristol-based LGBTQ+ people seeking asylum and those with refugees status. We meet every 2 weeks and spend time together (online or by phone during Covid-19). We support and listen to each other and enjoy celebrating our identities and cultures together. Before Covid-19 we sometimes went to fun nights out and events. We aim to connect with Bristol’s great LGBTQ+ community.
The manager and our great team of volunteers can give you support and advice so you can stay safe and get what you need.
If you are LGBTQ+ and seeking asylum or have refugee status, please come along! Pride Without Borders meets every other Wednesday from 6pm – 8pm.
If you would like further information or to join us, please contact Tom on 07856 672351.
‘Prove It’ written by Lynsey Cullen, a vital and human story of one woman’s experience being interviewed for asylum and asked to “prove” her sexuality, something she has had to keep hidden.
‘Queer All About It: Queers Beyond Borders’. Interviews with representatives from UK Lesbian and Gay Immigration Group (UKLGIG), Journeys Festival International and others with experience working with LGBTQ+ asylum seeker and immigration communities to discuss the experiences and challenges faced and how we can support them.
